Makalu Trek - 23 Days

 

The trek to Makalu base camp takes you to one of the most remote and unfrequented areas in Nepal. This trek follows the Barun valley which contains some of the last remaining huge protected area. Within this area we will find the Makalu Barun National park which has been established as Nepal’s eight national park.

From the bottom of the Arun valley near the start of the trek, the mountains rise from just 435m. above sea level to the lofty snow-capped peak of Mt. Makalu at 8463m, world’s fifth highest peak, within a distance of only 40 km. The trek, therefore passes through a wide diversity of ecosystems and cultures.

Day 03 : Fly Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (860) and trek to Khadbari

Day 04 : Trek to Chichila

Day 05 : Trek to Num

Day 06 : Trek to Sedua

Day 07 : Trek to Tashi gaon

Day 08 : Trek to khongma

Day 09 : Rest at Khongma

Day 10 : Trek to Mumbuk

Day 11 : Trek to Nhe Kharka
